VPA-2 Generates Energy at Lowest Unit Cost

While the cost of energy generation through solar PV cells was steadily declining in the past decade, Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technologies had fluctuating declines in cost. The introduction of VPA-2 in 2019 redefines the energy market as its energy generation unit costs are now lower than solar PV cells; which enables higher return on investments through higher efficiency and reduced operating costs

Concentration

Our novel concentrator is designed to concentrate sunbeams directly into the heat storage, where solar radiation is then stored as thermal energy. Varying between 5 to 70 metres in diameter, the concentrator does not have to track the sun, and is therefore much less costly than others of its type. Moreover, no storage medium is used which leads to a more efficient production.

Heat Storage

Developed through the innovative application of heat transfer theories, the VPA-2 heat storage system can store and process heat more than 1000°C. It allows heat to be quickly absorbed, which can either be stored or instantly delivered. Long term preservation of the stored energy enables the continuous production and delivery of power regardless of time – 24 hours all year long.
